A Crossover Campaign with the Asylum.
Long ago, our peoples, orc, dwarf, elf, gnome, and halfling, came to Eidan, carried by the great ships of the dragons. And the dragons ruled our peoples for many generations. But then the dragons left us and we learned to rule ourselves.
The elves built great cities, their capital Solaria, and the great trade city Ventra. The dwarves dug into the mountains, providing minerals and metals for trade. The gnomes became insular, hiding from the world. The halflings settled in and became great merchants and traders, acting as the go-betweens for the other races. And the orcs were banished to the frozen north, falling to barbarism and brutality.
And all but the orcs knew peace and prosperity and plenty. Ours was a good life, guided by the Serpent Queen, our benevolent Goddess.
Then the humans came.
They came in three great flying ships, the size of cities. They came with machines of war. Barking sticks that tore through armor, rolling monsters of metal and fire, unliving dragons roaring through the sky. They landed in the north, decimating the orcs first. Had they met the elves or the halflings first, perhaps there might have been hope for peace. But it was the orcs. The orcs who attacked them with their spears and their clubs. The orcs were nearly wiped out.
But the humans did not stop there. Solaria, Ventra, and the dwarven mountain of Mirlune are gone now. We have not words for the weapon the humans used. A great flash of light...then the sky burned. A great cloud mushrooming up. What hope have we against such weapons?
But we must fight back, retake what we have lost. The Serpent Queen demands no less.
